Adorable great nephew with pumpkin carved by his dad.

I love Halloween.  What’s not to love about a holiday that lets you run around after dark, eat chocolate and dress in a costume, and I just had to ask permission to post this picture, from my nephew, because it is just the cutest picture on earth  today.

Beside the adorable baby, in the picture above, we have an awesomely carved pumpkin eating a pumpkin.  That should win an award somewhere. Obviously, I am proud of my great nephew and lovely significant other, sorry I did not mention you earlier.  You are a dear and should not be forgotten.

Since I am totally messed up as far as my photos (Yes, rubbermaids full that I am sorting), I am posting a couple of Halloween pictures that are not of the best quality but at least new to this blog.  I would like to post the one of my Master’s Daughter, who I first took trick or treating when she was eight months old, but who knows which Rubbermaid it is in?

EMT Dragon and Gaffer Knight

You have seen this dragon costume last year when it was a photo of my oldest grandson and his mother, my Master’s Daughter, who created some fantastic costumes for her boys and let her nephews borrow them.

And, even when their aunt did not supply costumes, they found a way to create them.  This is EMT, Jake in the middle and Gaffer to the right.  The goal was to create armor out of blue jeans.

Have a fun and safe Halloween!

Letter to my daughter:

I want you to know that your childhood has now become my childhood.  It is not my fault. I did not steal your childhood, even though it was far more exciting than mine was.

When grandma tells you the story of her taking me to the beach, as a baby, and not realizing that the sun reflected off the sand, and she felt so horrible because my little feet got burnt; well, just remember that it was your little feet that got burnt, your mother who was stupid enough to not realize the sun reflected off the sand and, even though I had you under the umbrella, your feet got burnt.

But, don’t feel bad because I got like a third degree, vomiting in the pharmacy burn which she has forgotten all about.  So even though she thinks your incident was poor little me, it was actually you.  She came over to my house to take care of you and me because I should have been in the hospital; but she has totally forgotten that I was burnt to a crisp, or that it was NOT her fault.

Then, there is the little matter of the weeping willow that I was so upset about when lightning struck it.  Only lightening never did strike the tree I played under as a child.  Grandma had moved, by the time you had your own weeping willow to play under, and it was that weeping willow that was struck by lightning.

In the beginning, I corrected her, but what does it really matter?

The rain has stopped, the sun is out and I am on my dial-up, for a while at least. I have been kicked off twice, so I shall type fast. This morning I had a party line on my phone. Thank you SOOOOOO much AT&T, for this wonderful service.

I am working industriously on the book stuff. I have a printed manuscript and am passing it around the family for each to read and critique. It’s interesting the different things they each find.

Irritating Little Chihuahua has a new phobia. My mother purchased three recliners for her apartment and sent home the rocking love seat and reclining chair that she had to our house. We now have a leather couch, a sofa bed, a love seat, a huge old broken down recliner of my dad’s (I just can’t part with it) and my mother’s recliner. They are all in the frontroom although working their way to the dining room and it is mom’s chair that is half in and half out that is frightening the dog.

She seems alright with the chair being there and has even braved jumping up on the love seat. However, if anyone sets in mom’s recliner and reclines, feet up, the dog becomes a quivering mass of jello. She tries to hide behind my back, or forces herself into my arms, no matter what I am doing.

But, perhaps it is inherited. I hesitate to tell this story on myself, but what the heck. Last night, I woke up on the floor. Seriously! And, no I had not been drinking or doing any drugs. I do not remember falling out of bed. I just woke up on the floor, kind of under my table-matic, whatever it is that my computer sits on.

The worse part is, I sort of woke up and realized I was on the floor but that I could not get up. I believe I dozed off at that point and woke again and realized my arm was wet, so I reached up and moved my dumped water glass and went back to sleep again. I believe it was three tries before I got myself up off the floor. This morning, needless to say, I was really tired and slept late.

And, as if that was not enough, or maybe there is some connection, I dreamt that I was having a baby and that Severus Snape was the father.  (Sorry, all you not Harry Potter people, he is a great character, but I would not want to marry him.  Lupin maybe but not Severus.)   I was going to die after the baby was born and he was there, with his van, taking things to his house because he would be raising the baby.

Okay, maybe I need to quit sleeping with my headphones on and listening to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at night.
